Laois Ladies Football Appoints New Joint-Managers for 2023 Season

 

Laois LGFA has announced that Tom Devereux and Billy Kiernan will take over as the new joint-managers of the Laois senior ladies football team.

The duo will replace Donie Brennan, who led the team to All-Ireland intermediate success in 2022.

Tom Devereux and Billy Kiernan are not new to Laois football, as they have been involved in coaching both Emo and Portarlington GAA men’s senior teams.

They also have experience in managing ladies football, as they were in charge of Sarsfields LGFA in Kildare, where they helped the team improve and progress.

The pair have expressed their excitement and enthusiasm for working with the Laois ladies football team, which they believe has a lot of potential and talent.

Laois Ladies Football: A Team on the Rise

Laois ladies football has enjoyed a remarkable rise in recent years, thanks to the efforts of former manager Donie Brennan, who was a county star himself.

Brennan guided the team to All-Ireland intermediate glory in 2022, ending a 14-year drought for the O’Moore County. He also helped the team retain their senior status in 2023, despite facing tough competition.

Laois ladies football has a proud history, having won four All-Ireland senior titles in the past, as well as 11 Leinster titles.

The team will be hoping to build on their achievements and challenge for more silverware under the new joint-managers.
